Torn between two worlds: by LEXI OSTROW 5 stars.What a wonderful yet different type of book. This book was very interesting, intriguing and quite unique. It certainly caught my attention. It was the good against bad between brothers. There's a great love, they need to be careful. A girl with powers, such as have not been seen in generations. A love so strong, she'd do anything to be with him and him to be with her. However, there's nothing easy about their loving each other.
Truly wonderful characters that make the story. They're multi dimensional, intense, well rounded, purposeful, characters.
I've not read something so good yet different in quite a while. There's guardians, people from somewhere you can't imagine.
I can't say much I don't want to ruin this very unique, book. I enjoyed reading it a lot. I think many people will enjoy this book.

A magicaly erotic getaway into a world of hot alpha males and strong minded women. A tale woven so imaginatively you lose yourself within the first few pages. I look forward to Lexi's future works in which I'm sure she will paint hot and sexy new worlds.
This was the most fabulous idea of Word Speakers. To be able to bring to "life" a character from a book you are reading (there is a hitch) and have them as your guardian (again, a hitch). This author breathes life into a thought that all readers have had. Well...at least I have. The emotions, dark & light, are true, the world building is amazing, and the characters speak to you. I can't wait to read the next.
Torn between Two Worlds should come with a cold shower warning. Lexi Ostow introduces the reader to the world of the speakers and guardians. Word speakers are people who can read a book and pull a character out. These Characters them become guardians who protect the word speaker from the other characters of the book. We quickly learn that the word speakers are part of a growing army for one of the Twins who have been chosen to lead the sides of good and evil in a prophesied war.
In this book we meet Ciara Miller and her Demon Guardian Stryder. We share Ciara's struggles of learning to use her skills and how to control her unbridled attraction for her guardian. The sex scenes are steamy and full of passion. This book is defiantly not for anyone who is not ready for the mature content.
When I started this book I was prepared to have a nice easy read to distract me from my busy schedule. What I didn't expect was the late night marathon reading I did to find out where this story was going. I think the consept of fictional characters coming to life is greatly underused in the literary world. Mrs. Ostrow takes a unique approach when pulling characters in and out of what we know of as reality. What I love about this book is that it really made me have to stop and think about the world she had created. When an author guides you so expertly into an alternate reality you can't help but wonder if it just might be true. I give this book 5 stars because of the expertise shown in weaving story lines, character development, brilliantly captivating sexual tension, and an undeniably unique voice and cadance that pulls you along to the very last page.
This book sure came from an amazing inmagination and an talented author. If only we could do and have what Ciara did and have. Boy I could think of a few books that I would pick a Hot Hunk from. The story was well written with suspence, HOT romance, action, twist and turns, oh boy I never saw that coming, edge of your seat, can't put the book down. It is an easy story line to follow and sure makes your thoughts go else where. I went through all emotions and even cryed a few times. I loved how the author mixed both worlds together and neither was over done. Showed good and evil as one and how they can work together. Also what a person would give up for true love and happiness. I enjoyed the book immensely and truly look forward to the next.
Have to say I almost started with book 3 of the Guardians series (Magic of Worlds) to read but upon starting that book was immediately drawn to the Word Speakers universe and the characters therein and had to purchase book one just to learn more of the back story. It is beautifully written and full of complexity, rich with characters and well developed plot lines. It draws one into the story and is woven together to ensnare the reader. I loved this book, Torn Between Two Worlds. I became invested in the characters and what was happening to them. I didn’t want to have to put the story down. I cannot wait to continue with book two of the series.
Word Speakers upon their 27th birthday come completely into their gift. A word speaker is a person who can pull characters from books. That is both good and bad characters being pulled who will try and bring about or prevent the apocalypse based on if they support heaven or hell in the battle. Ciara Miller is a gifted Word Speaker who has endured great personal loss in her life. She has gotten through the loss of her family with the companionship of her guardian, Alcott. A guardian is pulled from a book that the Word Speaker has read and is there to protect them from others pulled from books who mean to harm them. There are two sides, two brothers who either want to prevent or bring on the end of the world.
If a Guardian is no longer the best fit to protect the Word Speaker a new one is chosen. This book finds Ciara in the difficult position of being given a new Guardian, Stryder. This is the story of Ciara and Stryder. It is the story of Ciara’s growth as a Word Speaker and the difficulties she goes through to become better at her gifts. She learns to move between the book universe and the real world and how to protect both. The end of this story leaves you wanting to read further. It does not disappoint.
